Young Fawn

Debra Sisson Oil Painting Wildlife Portrait Animals Deer

Oil ACEO, 3.5" x 2.5"

This was one of my very small ACEO-size paintings that I did from a few years ago.  I know I learned many things from painting so small and remember these paintings fondly.  I love the design of the "dots" on fawns.

Chosen One

Debra Sisson Oil Painting Horse Pet Portrait Equine Art Farm Animals

Oil on canvas, 12" x 9" x 3/4"

I called this painting "Chosen One" because I imagined this horse as being the favorite among his mates at the stables where he lives. He has a gentle and confident presence about him.

White Cat on Red Crinoline

Debra Sisson Oil Painting Pet Portrait Cat Art Feline Animals

Oil on Canvas, 8" x 10".

White cats are wonderfully reflective and colorful. In this painting, Ms. Babette is resting luxuriously in a red crinoline skirt and is very much at home and in her element as a feline.

Schnauzer Portrait

Debra Sisson Watercolor Painting Dog Art Pet Portrait Animals

Watercolor on bristol board 12" x 10".

Watercolor reacts differently on bristol board than it does on watercolor paper. It produced an interesting effect when I painted this dashingly handsome miniature schnauzer.  His keen eyes are shadowed by those thick, bushy eyebrows.  I enjoy painting these salt and pepper beauties.

"Kirby" 9x12 oil on black canvas by Leslie Newman

"Kirby"

Meet Kirby! This sweet cairn terrier was my beloved Ollie's
half sister. They shared the same sire.
Kirby's owner Sue and I have been longtime friends when we were
Living in Des Moines, Iowa.
Over 15yrs ago, she directed me to the Cairn Breeder
Where she bought Kirby. I ended up buying my Ollie
6 months later.
Both of these cairn girls have now passed over the great rainbow
Bridge. They each had nice long lives living
Over 15 yrs.
I surprised Sue with this painting a week or
so ago. I hope as her family looks at it, they
will always remember their  sweet Kirby!

I entered this painting into the Boldbrush painting competition
Online. I hope whoever sees this can go there and
Give it a "like" vote!

Oil on gallery-wrapped canvas, 8" x 8" x 3/4"

This is the second in a series of lemons/fruit wrapped in tissue. In this one, I "spun the color wheel" which I feel added more drama along with more movement of lines and shapes.
