Apple Line-up

Oil Painting Still Life Fruit Art Apple Kitchen

Oil on stretched canvas, 8" x 16"

In progress - blocked in.

I remembered to take a photo of this painting in an early stage so that I and viewers can see the progression.  The apples seem to take on their own unique characters when posed this way and viewed from slightly below.  They can be looked at as actors on a stage or groups involved in conversations if I use my imagination.  I had initially planned to keep the work looser and casual, but paintings sometimes seem to take on their own energy and purpose as many artists have found.  I am satisfied with the apples' finished "characters" in this piece.  That's always a good feeling.
